Many of you that have talked to me are aware that I'm currently in college and working on an associates in Social Work/Psychology. What I'm realizing more and more is even though I've been in a few psych classes, I still don't understand the first thing about how psychology works. It's just not connecting with me, it's not given me a whole new way of looking at things and approaching them, and it hasn't really improved my thinkings. So, I ask: what the hell is the point of me going after this degree? Thus far, I feel like I haven't been educated at all and wonder what's going to be the point of having the degree when I can't apply it. I know you don't go into the field right after getting it, but what would be the point of chasing this further when I have no grip, no comprehension, no true feel of what psychology is and how to apply it? I really do think I'm just wasting my time.
